I grew up in Commack, N.Y. and graduated from SUNY New Paltz in May of '94 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. I moved to Holly Springs, NC in '97, and began my career in Johnston County at Selma Middle School. A year later I transferred over to Wake County and taught 5th grade at Willow Springs Elementary for 18 years. I decided to move back to a traditional calendar schedule, and transferred to Holly Ridge Elementary last year. Holly Springs has been home to my husband Brian and our two children and I for the past 20 years. My son Justin is 20 and my daughter Kylie is 17, a senior at Middle Creek High School. My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, animals, sports, hiking and reading. I currently have two dogs, a cat, a ferret, and three snakes. (The snakes are really my sons) Every year has been exciting and memorable and I am grateful to be a part of such an incredible school and community.
